The Australian custard apple industry has identified the food service industry as a potential market that requires development. Research has identified the difficulty in ripening and time taken in preparing fresh custard apples for use in recipes is a disincentive for chefs
A technique has been developed to produce fruit as a semi processed, frozen custard apple product, with no seeds. This will reduce the preparation time necessary by the food service industry to further add value and create new recipes.
Fruit is sourced from Food Safe accredited custard apple farms in Queensland and NSW, and processed in HACCP registered processing rooms, packaged in food safe plastic containers, frozen to -18 degrees. HACCP is an internationally recognized food safety system.
Package sizes at present are 1 litre, 500mls and 150mls. Larger package sizes can be arranged.
The new product is 100% Australian custard apple fruit, with no preservatives or additives. It is totally natural, but frozen. It is sold under the Registered Trade Marked brand of
"FRUITICIOUS" - frozen custard apple.
